About Melek&Maya

Melek&Maya is a studio founded by women that produces unique and handmade Iznik ceramics with great passion and attention to detail. Iznik is a western Anatolian town and has been known for the pottery produced there for over 600 years. The glaze technique, pottery as well as the patterns and colors are unmistakable and have a long tradition. Melek and Maya are behind Melek&Maya. Melek is the artist and head of the workshop. Maya takes care of the organization and sale of the products. On the one hand, Melek and Maya want to protect and continue the traditional craft of Iznik pottery and make this type of pottery even better known in the world. On the other hand, they also want to offer young artists a platform to develop new interpretations together with them.Read their story
