Dalla Niakhaté is the founder of couture tea brand Thés Lac Rose. Born and raised in Paris, France, Dalla grew up in a family of Senegalese immigrants. From a very young age, her Senegalese mother introduced her to many traditional teas and homemade herbal blends. This is how she developed her taste for teas, their scents and their flavours. In many West African countries, herbal blends are used primarily for their health benefits. In 2015, Dalla travelled to China for six months to explore tea gardens and acquire a more formal training on tea and its entire ecosystem. The Thés Lac Rose adventure started in 2018 with 300 euros of savings when she was fresh out of business school and very much still in student debt. In 2019 and 2020, Thés Lac Rose was among the Great Taste Awards winners and recognised by the Guild of fine food for its unique premium teas. In 2021, the brand was featured in British Vogue.
