Mahala Wallah is a collection of beautiful and sustainable objects sourced from the hidden corners of Europe and beyond by us, Rosie and Maks The word Mahala or Mahalla is used in many languages and countries meaning neighbourhood or community. Wala/Wallah/Vala This word is notorious for its different meanings and spellings but most know it in the context as it refers to a seller or vendor of something. Our aim is to offer 100% plastic free options for the home, kitchen and garden. Meeting and working with all our makers personally is how we know that every unique piece meets our high standards. Our artisans all use natural materials whilst applying sustainable methods, they create the objects in the same way as they have for generations, the natural way is normal, sustainability is standard. Sustainability is super important to us throughout the whole production line. we do everything we can to keep air freight to a minimum, and are constantly reviewing options for sustainable packaging. We work with family run businesses who produce small runs of products, this means far less of an impact on the environment compared to large scale home, kitchen and garden ware, we don't work with factories. We recycle whenever local systems let us. When recycling doesn't work we get creative and are heavily involved in an eco building project using old single use plastic and bottles.
