About Big Bite Studios

Big Bite Studios is a Melbourne-based art and design practice working across art, illustration, textiles and objects. Rooted in colour, tactility and nostalgia, the studio creates playful, considered pieces that sit between art and utility, designed to be used, lived with and collected. The studio produces small-batch and short-run collections across ceramics, textiles and illustrated objects, alongside custom projects and collaborations. A balance of handmade and design-led processes allows for flexibility across retail and project-based work. Every piece begins in Melbourne. Ceramics and textiles are developed in-house, while selected products are produced in collaboration with a close network of small, family-run makers across Australia and Asia — chosen for their commitment to small-batch production and thoughtful making. Based at the Abbotsford Convent, the studio is both a workspace and an open, creative environment.
