Cyanotype is an early photographic printing process, known for producing rich Prussian blue monochrome prints. The process uses a photosensitive solution of iron salts that reacts to UV light. When sunlight hits the treated surface, objects, or negatives, placed on top leave behind striking silhouettes and images. Photographer and artist Kate Kryder loves exploring the play between light and shadow while capturing the everyday beauty in nature using this artform.
