About Taken Twice

Taken Twice is a jewellery brand created by me, LaurieMcCausland. Everything is handmade by me in my small studio in the heart of the countryside in Derbyshire, UK. I use the ancient craft of Lost Wax Casting to create unique jewellery collections inspired by lost treasures from the past and the relationships they have with nature and the landscapes they now find themselves in. I use recycled metals in all of my work, alongside sustainably sourced precious gems and pearls, often incorporating the relief of an ancient coin carefully chosen from my collection. I have a background in Fine Art originally specialising in sculpture. Now my work is strongly influenced by this way of creating and the idea of being unbound by rules in the creation process helps me in portraying the wonder and excitement of unearthing these long lost treasures in a contemporary and playful way, creating unique, sculptural jewellery intended to be treasured for years to come.
