Rooted in Cut Off, Louisiana, Pitre's Handcrafted represents generations of family, faith, and survival on the bayou. Originating in the 1970s with our family’s Christian business, Louisiana Bayou Bites, we offer retailers a genuine piece of Southern heritage. All our materials are ethically harvested and legally sourced through our multi-generational family trade. When we say handcrafted, we mean it. We don't buy pre-cut wood; we harvest the cypress ourselves to build root paddles and cutting boards from scratch. We proudly use reclaimed "nutria boards"—weathered cypress my great-grandfather used decades ago to dry pelts. Every detail on our custom Bible covers, decor, and keychains is freehand burned by my partner Cody and me. No lasers, just fire and focus. (We also offer custom logo burning!) Our alligator products continue a trade spanning fifty years. We skin the alligators ourselves for our leather goods. Our necklaces feature fossilized teeth and teeth passed down from my great-grandfather, fully sterilized and hand-strung. To honor our roots, my parents meticulously preserve the authentic alligator heads we supply. Every item is harvested, cut, and created by our immediate family. Because everything is 100% handmade, no two pieces are exactly alike.
