About PITRESHANDCRAFTED
Rooted in Cut Off, Louisiana, Pitre's Handcrafted represents generations of family, faith, and survival on the bayou. Originating in the 1970s with our family’s originally Christian business, Louisiana Bayou Bites, we offer retailers a genuine piece of Southern heritage. All our materials are ethically harvested and legally sourced through our multi-generational family trade. all crafted in light with no intentions but their purpose. When we say handcrafted, we mean it. We don't buy pre-cut wood; we harvest the cypress ourselves to build root paddles and cutting boards from scratch. We proudly use reclaimed "nutria boards"—weathered cypress my great-grandfather used decades ago to dry pelts. Every detail on our custom Bible covers, decor, and keychains is freehand burned by my partner Cody and me. No lasers, just fire and focus. (We also offer custom logo burning!) Our alligator products continue a trade spanning fifty years. We skin the alligators ourselves for our leather goods. Our necklaces feature fossilized teeth and teeth passed down from my great-grandfather, fully sterilized and hand-strung. To honor our roots, my parents meticulously preserve the authentic alligator heads we supply. Every item is harvested, cut, and created by our immediate family. I honestly love the culture behind your shop. My great great great great grandmother what a treater (Cajun French), I am her namesake. So I honestly understand a lot of what you guys are about, just from a different perspective on slight things. I hope things sell fast and well, and I hope to keep the truth about our history and culture alive. Hopefully our businesses can keep sharing each other's legacies through the only way people know how: gifts and money, until we learn otherwise and better methods. I'm not sure how many of our products you got yet. I hope you got the racks and I hope this was a comment on the racks because our racks sell like crazy and they are one of a kind and custom completely almost made by scratch and my husband puts a lot of work into it. I make the bigger ones but he does make the smaller ones and he's great at it. When it comes to the sinker Cypress or the red cedar he knows how to make it pop. I really appreciate the review.
