Sustainable, Ethical, Timeless. Named after my two children, Bean + Bear's mission is to bring awareness and environmental closed-loop practices back into the jewelry industry and to invest in the protection of the Earth for generations to come. As an artist, I look to create quality jewelry that can ultimately be recycled and repurposed after many, many years of wear. Sustainability is my ethos, and I abide by Earth-First practices in the sourcing, creation, and presentation of all my jewelry pieces. My work is inspired by the natural world, celebrating textures and form designed for everyday wear yet sophisticated enough to elevate any outfit. I use certified Harmony brand recycled sterling silver to craft all of my work, ethically sourced and repurposed from old silverware, coins, jewelry, and dental scrap. My packaging and shipping materials are all FSC certified and are compostable/recyclable and plastic-free, even the stickers and tape! The cotton keepsake pouches I use are GOTS Certified (Fair Trade/Organic) and are hand printed with natural soy-based inks. Everything I sell in my shop has been handmade by me in my studio in Frederick, Maryland; I do not outsource any of my work.
