J.R Candle Company was founded in 2019 after I noticed two of my children, both asthmatic, reacting negatively to the candles I loved burning at home. My passion for scent and self-care led me on a search for cleaner, non-toxic options—not made with soy—but came up short. So, I started making them myself. What began as a solution for my family quickly turned into a full-fledged brand rooted in wellness, intention, and luxury. Our candles are handcrafted in small batches in St. Louis using premium coconut apricot crème wax, skin-safe, clean+ fragrance oils, and FSC-certified wooden wicks (that crackle). We’re proud to be a soy-free, eco-conscious company. Every element—from our refillable vessels to our packaging—is sourced responsibly in the U.S., aligning with our values of sustainability and quality.
