About Nicolle Cure Art

Nicolle Cure is a Miami-based abstract fluid painter interpreting sounds & emotions through her latest painting series, The Colors of Sound. The Colors of Sound Series was inspired by her sudden unilateral hearing loss experience. Since then, she has used her art to help raise awareness about hearing loss and vestibular (balance-related) disorders that affect people of all ages. “When I look at sound frequencies, I see patterns. My natural reaction as an artist is to fill in the missing blanks. ‘Seeing the sound’ allows me to capture emotions and moods which later become paintings.” -Nicolle Her work has been featured in several magazines and blogs, focused on both art and hearing health. In 2018, Nicolle was the sole recipient of the Leaders with Disabilities Scholarship, awarded by Americans for the Arts. Nicolle’s art has been showcased at Miami Art Week and Art Basel Miami, and at art fairs from South Korea and China to Colombia. Her work is currently on display at West Elm stores. Read their story
