About EDC Publishing

Once upon a time, Educational Development Corporation began with a focus on educational material. However, it didn't take us long to discover our true passion: books children actually like to read! The vision became apparent, and we realized that together we could change the world one book at a time. EDC was founded in 1965 to develop supplemental curriculum materials for schools and in 1978 began publishing books. In 2008, EDC acquired Kane Miller Books, award winning publishers of children's books from around the world. Kane Miller's list includes the hugely popular "Everyone Poops", along with the successful and innovative Shine-a-Light series, and the bestselling "All Better". In 2021, EDC acquired Learning Wrap-ups, a unique line of children's educational manipulatives created by a 4th grade schoolteacher in northern Utah to help her students gain automatic recall of basic math facts. The initial line up has grown to include other subjects, and Learning Wrap-ups continue to be used today in classrooms and homes worldwide. In 2022, EDC acquired SmartLab Toys. Since 2004, SmartLab Toys' STEAM products have earned more than 50 of the toy industry's most prestigious awards, including Oppenheim Platinum awards and Good Housekeeping Best Toy awards. Together, these three product lines are well-aligned with EDC's mission of expanding children's literacy.
