From Farm to Bowl – Premium Nutrition, Born from the Meat Industry Shepherd Boy Farms began as a small, family-run operation raising goats for the meat industry. In an unexpected but purposeful shift, we set out to bring the same high standards of meat quality we valued for humans to the world of pet nutrition. That decision led to the creation of our line of freeze-dried pet treats, goat’s milk toppers, and complete meals - all made with premium, all-natural ingredients. We chose freeze drying as our preservation method, which is far superior to traditional dehydration processes that can strip away 40–60% of essential nutrients. Today, we proudly offer a growing line of single-ingredient treats for both dogs and cats. Most varieties are available in 3 oz and 8 oz bags (with the exception of our minnows, which come in 2 oz and 5 oz sizes). We've also introduced our freeze-dried goat’s milk toppers in four functional varieties: Classic, Golden Blend, Super Fruit, and Super Greens. Unlike traditional spray-dried powders, our gentle freeze-drying process preserves natural probiotics and nutritional integrity. Our food line includes eight AAFCO-certified freeze-dried dog food recipes, each made with organic fruits and vegetables and balanced without the use of synthetic vitamins or minerals.
