Vittrock wants you to feel like you're the most badass, beautiful creature on the planet, because you are, and our adornment conducts that lively electricity. Born and raised in Portland Oregon, designer Hilary Contolini let a collection of necklaces become so tangled around her neck she couldn't take them off for four years. The positive reaction to that accidental piece inspired her to learn the art of deliberate metal manipulation while living in San Francisco. After a stint in Brooklyn working for a dozen other jewelry designers, Hilary returned to her hometown where she burns her hands without rest in the name of mutation and innovation (and because she really likes to set things on fire).Read their story
