One of us utilized their degree to develop a world class palate and was awarded numerous food related patents. One of us honed their craft at FatMan University and drinking moonshine with their buddies. Coming from large families was truly a blessing. It wasn't uncommon for family gatherings to have well over 150 folks in attendance, and trust us, it was always really easy to tell which dishes were "HITS" and "MISSES". The good stuff was gone before the end of the line made the service table, and if you had to take home a barely eaten dish... well, let's just say the walk of shame loading up the vehicle to leave wasn't fun. Having learned from some talented chefs, cooks, backyard hero's, competition cooks, as well as a few "legends in their own minds", we were able to develop some amazing flavor profiles that are not only unique, but captured our "slightly outside of the box" style of Kansas City BBQ.
