In love with noble materials, I decided to carry out a professional retraining as a designer in leatherwork after 15 years as a decorator in the cinema. Indeed, after several internships with leather craftsmen and intensive training in the manufacture of leather bags and accessories, I was able to confirm the idea of settling down and creating my own collections. In January 2018, I launched my own brand: Mr J. I make sober, elegant, useful, simple and refined pieces for everyone, worn anywhere, in an artisanal way from materials of French origin. I therefore design and manufacture by hand and in France in my workshop in Rennes, bags and accessories only in Novonappa full-grain calf leather from the Haas tannery in Alsace.The Haas tannery, dating from 1842 is one of the five calf tanneries remaining in France. From Longchamp to Hermès via Dior or Chanel, the Haas tannery supplies the largest French houses. I also use a shield coming mainly from Maison Poursin in Paris. This large French house and dating since 1830, is one of the oldest in the manufacture of buckles and metal articles for leather goods and upholstery. Their parts are mainly made of brass and are made in France. This essential choice in my eyes to use French quality raw materials allows me to offer you parts with irreproachable qualities.Read their story
