Hi! I'm Stella — a Costa Rican illustrator living in Canada, and the indecisive human behind Chompurr. If you've ever stood in front of your closet or stared at a menu for 20 minutes, you get me. I'm the kind of person who can't decide what to wear, what to eat, or even what career path to follow. I graduated in illustration, but even with a degree, I had no idea what I really wanted to do with my life. Except for one thing. I always knew I wanted to love and care for an animal. That part of me was never uncertain. And in 2022, that dream came true when I met Sesame — my very first cat, and now the furry love of my life. 💕 Sesame is spoiled. Extremely spoiled. I buy her more than I buy for myself — and honestly, she deserves it all. But one thing about her? She begs for food constantly. No matter what I'm eating, she wants a bite, even if it's something she's absolutely not allowed to have. In 2024, Sesame had surgery complications that broke us completely — emotionally and financially. She was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease (CKD), and our world turned upside down. But she's a fighter, and so are we. Chompurr became more than just a project — it became our way of rebuilding, one toy at a time. So… I came up with a solution. I started designing playful, food-inspired toys Sesame could "snack" on safely. Chompurr is my way of giving Sesame all my favorite guilty pleasures — without risking a single upset tummy.
