Eden + Clay by Ana Denae is a deaf-owned mama artisan small business ~ Based in Lafayette, Louisiana, the heart of Cajun country! I’ve lived here my whole life and love incorporating small pieces of the culture in some of my hand-made collections. When I was 4.5 years old, I was diagnosed with leukemia and became a patient at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. I battled cancer for 4 years before finally beating it. Through God and the amazing staff at St. Jude’s, I was saved and given a second chance. Because of this, $1 from every order goes to support St. Jude's! People usually think my deafness came from cancer but I was actually born deaf. I sign, read lips and speak orally depending on the situation and who I’m with. I incorporate ASL in some of my collections like the signs for I Love You, Jesus, and Mama; which are hugely popular and so well loved! But I would say the most important and unique collection in my shop is the exclusive Scripture line that I designed from the beginning of launching Eden + Clay. I personally hand-pick each verse and make sure it relates to a common theme. My first Scripture theme was Freedom. Then came Love, Faith, and now I’m working on Peace. Each purchase of a Scripture style comes with a memory verse card that lists out each Bible verse mentioned in the theme. This collection is very special to me and will always be available in my shop year-round!
