About Hand and Ember
After spending the better part of a decade on the visual team of a global luxury brand overseeing retail campaigns, I bought a one-way ticket to Indonesia to explore craft and artisanship across the archipelago. I spent 7 months in Bali and Java meeting artisans, studying the language, and getting to know the materials. Now we're back in California and have assembled a collection of artisan-made objects, robes, and home decor. We celebrate the tactile and the poetic, the process of how things are made, and love materials like rattan, fragrant vetiver root, charred wood, and fabric that has been dyed by plants.
