ABOUT THE FOUNDER Born and raised in Turkey, Selen Akgul-Strickland has had the opportunity to study and travel across the globe. After completing her master's degree in Global Luxury and Management in 2019, she decided to stay in the U.S. In April 2021, she took a big step forward in her career by rolling up her sleeves in order to become an entrepreneur and started Patara. She wanted to bring high-quality beauty care products that are found and produced in her home country Turkey, to the U.S. WHY "PATARA"? Patara is the most stunningly beautiful and longest beach on the coast of the Turkish Riviera, located on the Mediterranean Sea. It is a protected nature reserve, as it is an important turtle nesting location. OUR MISSION & VALUES Patara Beauty is created to be a bridge between nature and beauty. Our goal is to empower women and help them be their best version by offering tools and products that deliver real results for healthy, radiant, and glowing skin. We want women to love their own skin and feel comfortable in it. All Patara products are reusable, recyclable, or compostable. We only use high-quality, all-natural, vegan, clean ingredients. All our items are made in Turkey and all ingredients are sourced ethically. We source some of our ingredients from Switzerland and work with Swiss & Turkish scientists to create our product formulas.
