About Southern Drinking Club

Southern Drinking Club was created with a love of a good drink with friends along with a passion for design and woodworking. We are a small woodshop in Houston specializing in making Damn Fine Drinking Gear! Woodworking has been a part of my family for generations. That's what drives the design and craftsmanship of my products. Using a combination of reclaimed materials such as used whiskey barrels, or exotic hardwood, I combine old and new methods and tools. It's not uncommon in my shop to use a hand plane from the 1940s, and then turn right around and place that same piece in a laser to engrave it. These products were first made as gifts for my friends and family, but now they can be for yours as well. I decided to make my first flight trays after witnessing what I thought should be a crime at one of the best steak houses in Texas. While sitting at the bar(shocking right?) I watched a server take a 4 glass flight of Pappy out to a customer. This $300 flight of some of the most storied whiskey was being served on a cheap stained paddle while in an incredible restaurant. When someone is ordering a flight of whiskey, they are not just wanting to drink whiskey. They want an experience with the whiskey, the sight, smell, and taste.
