About Mijo Candle Co

We’re Vincent + Adolfo, husbands and founders behind Mijo Co. Growing up, it was common practice for our elders (grandparents, tio's/tia's, neighbors, parents) to call us 'Mijo'; which translates to 'Son'. We believe scents are an integral part of who you are and evoke memories of our most treasured moments. We noticed there seemed to be 2 types of candles. One you can barely smell, while the other option is so overpowering it takes over your house. We wanted to create something that elevated your space - not overpower it. A candle you can smell throughout your room, adding to the moment, but isn’t the center of attention. Each candle we create is a tribute to our special memories. The aroma of ‘Bloom’ reminds Adolfo of his Grandma’s rose bushes, ‘Sweet’ reminds Vincent of making jam with his mom. Our 70’s retro vibe pays homage to the music our family listened to growing up - cruising down the streets and family kickbacks.
