Alpaca Threadz was founded during the global pandemic of 2020, born from a desire to uplift and support the Andean communities of Peru and Ecuador. When international travel came to a halt, our founder LeAnn—who also owns an adventure travel company—sought a way to continue helping the indigenous families she had long partnered with. With tourism, their primary source of income, suddenly gone, Alpaca Threadz became a bridge to bring their artistry and culture to the world. We are a fair trade, ethical company dedicated to preserving the traditions of Andean artisans who handcraft alpaca wool blankets, clothing, and accessories in remote regions of South America. By connecting retailers and customers worldwide with these artisans, we aim to foster cultural appreciation, create meaningful economic opportunities, and help safeguard one of the finest natural fibers in the world—alpaca. Giving back is at the heart of what we do. In addition to paying fair wages, we contribute 10% of our profits directly to the local families, helping sustain small businesses, strengthen communities, and ensure generational knowledge of textile craftsmanship continues to thrive.
