Flying Teaspoons is a greetings card brand whose aim is to create and sell cards that look too good to throw away! Cards that people want to frame because they feel like works of art. This concept is helped along with the fact that each design is made from collaged magazine pages, giving them a truly distinctive and original style. The cards themselves feature many different types of animals and birds, accompanied with funny and relatable captions which gives the animals personality and expression. More recently, I have incorporated people into some of the designs, which has allowed me to apply more appropriate imagery for different occasions. Personally, I think the act of buying cards can be so joyous when you find the perfect design for the family or friend you are buying for. Cards that make you laugh and instantly make you think of someone are the best kind and I'd like to think I can provide that experience for somebody through my own work. All cards are printed on luxurious 300gsm board called Accent Antique Silk which is a G.F Smith paper, made in the UK. The cards are all blank inside and sized at 150mm x 150mm. They come with a brown ribbed/flecked envelope and a clear cello-bag for protection. In case you are wondering where the name Flying Teaspoons came from... it's actually a collective noun for a group of Long Tailed Tits, which are garden birds found in the UK. They are really cute and have round bodies and long tails, hence the Teaspoon reference! Read their story
