About Barnabjörn

HALLÓ! & welcome to Barnabjörn, home to our distinctively minimal handmade Scandi children’s décor and eco-friendly toys. Designed for families who, like us, are inspired by the natural world. In my previous life I spent 8 years as a Menswear Buyer, with a background in Textiles & Marketing. Creating and showcasing product has always been at the centre of what I do. My inspiration? In short, Ísland. But not just for its natural beauty but the way I feel when I’m there: that child-like sense of wonder when you reach the top of a mountain to discover yet another ‘take-your-breath-away’ view; that sigh of contentment getting off the plane in Keflavik as though arriving home. And so, after years of adventures with my husband and the arrival of our own barna björn (or ‘baby bear’ in Icelandic), Barnabjörn was born with the aim of bringing a little bit of that combined wonder and comfort into our children’s worlds everyday. Integrity, sustainability and durability are at our heart and I am very proud to say we operate a strictly ‘all natural’ approach to our products and packaging. Made to the highest quality standards, our products are designed to last and become treasured heirlooms to be cherished for generations to come.
