Mira y Llorens S.A. was founded in 1969 by the Filliol sisters — Carmen, Pilar, and María — with the support of the profits from their father's carpentry business, Vicente Filliol. From the beginning, María led the company with determination, accompanied by her husband in management until 1991. The first facility was located in the basement of the family carpentry on Alicante Street, where between 20,000 and 30,000 kg of artisanal and traditional nougat were produced in its first batches. Over the years, the company consolidated and its flagship brand, El Artesano, was born in homage to the "Master nougat maker." This brand represents tradition, quality, and excellence in nougat production. Thanks to the use of selected ingredients and artisanal methods, Mira y Llorens S.A. has conquered palates worldwide.
