MiMAKi Umeboshi is Japanese pickles plum variety of Kishu Nanko-bai. Made in Wakayama prefecture of Japan. There is three kind of flavor AKA-SHISO (Red Perilla), KOMBU-DASHI (Sea kelp broth from Hokkaido), HACHIMITSU (Honey and Apple vinegar). Each Jar contains 200g per 15 peaces around. What's UMEBOSHI? Dried plum pickled with salt. UMEBOSHI contains high citric acid, malic acid and plant lactobacillus which improves intestial health. It helps recovery from fatique and has a purifying effect, therefore umeboshi have been eaten as a health food on a daily basis since ancient time. For that reason, there is a proverb "One pickled plum in the morning prevents misfortune." which means UMEBOSHI brings good health and good fortune. A supersititon which to this day people believe. About our UMEBOSHI “Kishu Nanko-bai”. (紀州南高梅) “Kishu Nanko-bai” is a premium brand of pickled plums produced in Kishu Wakayama Prefecture, the largest producer of Umeboshi in Japan. “Kishu Nanko-bai” has larger grains, softer, thinner skin, and richer and juicy texture than the other brand.
