Kava Haven was founded to prove that a life without alcohol doesn’t need to feel sacrificial and boring. We understand how it feels to go alcohol-free but feel flat in social outings, or simply missing that evening cocktail to unwind after a long day. But we also understand the frustrations of alcohol: hangovers, loss of productivity, and the long-term impact on your health. After a 75-day cleanse that required us to go alcohol-free, we had so much energy and mental clarity that we never wanted to go back to drinking again. But we missed those relaxing, socially lubricating effects of alcohol, and we tried every “alcohol alternative” we could, but nothing delivered. And then a friend from Fiji introduced us to Kava, a drink from the South Pacific that has been consumed by Islanders for over 3,000 years for its socially enhancing and relaxing effects. And it delivered just that: one drink relaxed your mind and took the tension out of your body, and the second drink felt socially energizing. We loved its effects but hated its bitter, earthy taste. So we extracted the kava and blended it into notes of citrus, white grape, and ginger, and turned it into a non-alcoholic spirit alternative. After countless iterations – the final product was delicious when sipped neat, on the rocks, or as a 1:1 replacement for spirits in some of our favorite cocktails.
