About Creative Adventures

The Personal Mandala Kit was developed from our 25 years of helping thousands of people with hands-on art experiences in Artbeat, our walk-in art studios in Arlington and Franklin, MA. We (Jan Whitted, along with son Drai and his wife Virginia, a yoga teacher and reiki master)  had developed new and fun ways to use sand as an art material. Sand is naturally playful, and we observed how much people enjoy making things together when there’s no pressure to “get it right” or to have a particular outcome. We wanted to bring that same fun experience to a format that most adults can relate to and can do at home We had the opportunity to do that during the 2020 pandemic, when we closed Artbeat and moved our equipment to a private studio in Lowell, MA. Brought to life through Kickstarter, the Personal Sand Mandala kit is now being offered to retailers across the United States.Read their story
