About Izzy Mcfarlane Design

Izzy is a ceramicist who specialises in homeware based in Margate, Kent. She studied printed textiles at Leeds Arts University working with screen printing and 3d processes. She bought a kickwheel in August 2020 and has been making ceramics ever since! Her work is strongly influenced by her textiles practice and has always been interested in the relationship between the 3D form and surface pattern, and which takes her design process in lots of exciting directions. She takes inspiration from architecture and mid century design in her work, contrasting brutalist inspired shapes with a soft playful colour palette. She likes to think of her mugs as little sculptures you can drink your morning coffee from!Read their story
