About Richard Delisle

The Cabanne family, upon their arrival in Charente, cultivated the land, and then in 1844 Jean-Célestin developed the wine-growing activity, while his only son Philémon expanded the distillation. The distillery then had three stills, which was significant for the time. Thus, for four generations, the distillery has been passed down from father to son. It is one of the largest in the region with 15 stills. The vineyard and distillery have continued to grow, with each generation contributing to the legacy. Richard Delisle is a house founded in 1834. At the end of the Second World War, the Cabanne family acquired this brand to give a name to their Cognacs. Today, Alexis Cabanne, Cellar Master and head of the family business, represents the fourth generation of distillers. He developed the spirits trading business in the traditional French market and for export by creating the company Hawkins Distribution in 1999.
