About Life and Whim

At Life and Whim, our mission is to help you create more happiness in your life. For us, and hopefully for you too, we believe the best moments in life are the simple ones spent in the outdoors, being active and expressing creativity. That’s what we’re about, and our means of communicating what inspires us is painting, writing, and creating goods and events that bring more happiness into the world. Since childhood, Heather has been a passionate maker and creator. She has spent much of her career as Creative Director of the marketing and design firm she founded in 2004. After founding Life and Whim in 2016, she has focused much of her energy on creating fun community events and designing northern-Michigan inspired clothing and other lifestyle products. In recent years, she has rekindled her love of painting. Heather finds joy and inspiration in the beautiful outdoors of northern Michigan and incorporates that love into her work. She works with bright and vivid colors and has a playful, free-flowing painterly style that portrays the happiness that she finds in the small details of life in her hometown of Traverse City.Read their story
