Hi, I'm Tara. I'm a Pop Realism oil painter, which is a fancy way of saying I use classical oil technique to paint slightly ridiculous things and take them very seriously. A grumpy cat on a psychedelic adventure. A hot dog with attitude. A banana having its Warhol moment. I've been painting for twenty years and hold a BFA from Buffalo State College, so there's real craft behind the silliness. I work alla prima with loose, textured brushwork, blending the electric color of Pop Art with the luminous detail you'd expect from the Old Masters. Every original is hand-painted in oil, then reproduced in-house as a signed giclée print on cold press fine art paper, or a blank greeting card.
