Yeli Bana was created to honor the legacy of Ms. Sallah’s late mother, a gifted fashion designer in The Gambia. The name originates from the phrase Lamtoro Yelibana, which is used to honor and praise someone with a Sallah last name in Senegambia, and it was also the name of my late mother’s fashion boutique. Yeli Bana is rooted in heritage, culture, and identity. It reflects the strength, elegance, and beauty of African tradition interpreted through modern design. Read their story
