The income from these products gives the Ugandan artisans the independence to care for their own families and to lift themselves out of poverty. AfriBeads was founded in 2009 after the founder visited Uganda and saw the poverty and struggle of many women. It was set up to empower women through creating an opportunity to earn a regular income to care for themselves and their children.
