About Courting the Wild

We are based on the Olympic Peninsula in the PNW. Our products are heavily influenced by the natural world around us and we find so much joy in sharing our products with others that find solace in the great outdoors. Courting the Wild was created with family in mind. Janita and Matthew Court have a son that struggled in public school and out of necessity for a safer environment decided to take control and homeschool. With that was the creation of a business that allowed Janita to stay home and teach while also being able to create and sell her artwork to help contribute to the family. A few years in and now it has become a family affair! Janita designs and creates the hand sculpted jewelry, while Matthew is in charge of the wooden products. With our son soon becoming of age to get his own job we have also made space for him to explore his own creative side and if he so chooses, some day he may be a part of the team too! Read their story
