About MIQISSA

Since I was a little girl growing up in Tokyo, I always had an endless curiosity for the world of the unknown. Fast forward a decade and I jumped at the chance to move to New York as a dance student. I held many part time jobs during my years as a dancer one of which lead to a full time job in the fashion industry. I was fortunate enough to work with designers from all over the world and was able to learn how the industry works from the inside out. I was particularly interested in how designers source and work with old garments, textiles, accessories, etc and their inspiration which often came from handcrafted peaces in the pre-machine era. I had developed an enormous appreciation for those craftsmanships and their works and my idea of MiQissa was planted. I truly appreciate and enjoy working with the local artisans and merchants of Turkey and have fully devoted my time and energy to this business.Read their story
