How it began… As the owner of a fluid art studio and gift shop on the Gulf Coast, I stayed pretty busy during the day. However, with my last child off to college and being newly single, I found myself looking for something to occupy my evenings. That’s when I began painting oysters on wine glasses. I started gifting them to friends, and before long, they wanted to buy some as gifts themselves. Their encouragement inspired me to start offering them in my shop. What started as a simple hobby turned into another business venture I hadn’t expected. Sadly, my brick-and-mortar studio closed, and I needed a new place to sell my work. That led me to creating an online shop, 251 Coastal Art Co and Gift Shop. Along with my hand-painted collection and custom items made to order, you will also find gift shop merchandise—like jewelry, hats, and other customer favorites.
