About Little Traverse Bay Candle Company

Little Traverse Bay Candle Company was founded in January, 2023 by Elliott Matelski, a Graduate of Petoskey and student at Davenport University in Grand Rapids. He began making candles in 2021 after receiving a kit from his sister for Christmas. His scents are inspired by Northern Michigan and seek to capture, in a small way, what it’s like to live Up North. I create unique candle fragrances inspired by Michigan. My most popular fragrances include iconic places of Michigan like the Great Lakes and Mackinac Island. Some also include an iconic stone like Petoskey Stone, Leland Blue, Lake Superior Agate, Yooperlite, and Fordite. I also create many other fragrances to fit any kind of customer and any season. Personally I am 19 years old and started this company as a junior in high school and I am now a sophomore in college. Read their story
