About Amanda Ross

Amanda Ross creates modern botanical art, not painted but printed, using pressed plants as the paintbrush. A hopeless gardener, she collects plants both for their beauty and memory of place. Using these pressed cuttings she creates gardens that don't need watering... With a background in textile design she developed a process producing exquisitely detailed plant prints. Collecting specimens worldwide Amanda handprints everything in her London studio. Primarily making artworks for the wall, some designs are modified for greetings cards, blank inside they are suitable for all occasions. New, expanding concertina books are a visual illustration of the botany used in prints and a lovely present for those who love plants. Art prints are sized to fit in off-the-shelf frames, both imperial and metric sizes, and printed on demand to reduce wastage. All are on archival paper using lightfast inks so they can be placed anywhere. All of the range is made in the UK with small, independent companies, using sustainable materials as much as possible. Amanda exhibits regularly at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, but still struggles with maintaining the houseplants. Read their story
