Our journey led us across the globe, with Kathmandu, Nepal, becoming a cherished destination for sourcing unique clothing and accessories. It was there, in 1991, that we met Jhaindra Ghimire, a partnership that would shape our future. As our business grew, so did our awareness of the challenges faced by artisans in Nepal. Determined to make a positive impact, we embraced fair trade principles, collaborating with Jhaindra's factory to ensure safe working conditions and fair wages. This commitment has empowered over 80 women, rescued from bonded labor, providing them with valuable skills and a path to a better life. Today, based in Santa Cruz, California, Avatar Imports offers a stunning array of bohemian fashion, from dresses and skirts to yoga wear and accessories. Our products are available online and in numerous boutiques, yoga studios, and major retailers across the country. Despite our growth, we remain true to our roots, continuing to travel, connect with artisans, and share the boho-chic lifestyle we love.
