About MAISOLI

Sunday was a great holiday for the peasant families of those times. On the fireplace the mothers cooked the polenta and as soon as it was cooked they poured it on the wooden cutting board to make it cool. In the empty copper pot there was a thin layer that slowly dried out. The children loved that roasted and crunchy polenta waffle on which they spread a little butter, a few crumbs of sugar and wild fennel. It was their dessert.
