About My Dad's Chips

My Dad's Chips has come a long way from the kitchen of our founder, Gary Edell. Originally a hobby, he would thinly slice russet potatoes with a mandolin slicer, and cook them kettle style in a large pot on his stovetop. The result was a potato chip with the crunch of a kettle cooked chip, but instead of the thick cut (like most kettle chips), Gary's chips had the melt-in-your-mouth qualities of a traditional chip. Combined with the robust real potato flavor from the russets, Gary's chips quickly became a neighborhood sensation. When Gary's kids went away to college, he would send them care packages of his potato chips. Whenever the kids' friends would ask, "Where did you get these chips?" the response was always "They're My Dad's Chips!" and the brand was born.
