Contemporary Relics is a line of jewelry created by Sherri Bloomer Jewelry for history buffs who love a classic style updated for today's woman and offers wholesale for boutiques and the museum gift shop trade. Sherri has created this line of authentic images from the 1800's and early 1900's that originated with hand carved master die hubs. The antique masters were used to create her working dies. These images are rare as they haven't been produced since the 1800's and early 1900's, unless you're lucky enough to find a piece of antique jewelry made from them. Sherri uses only sterling or fine silver, 14kt gold, bronze, 14kt gold filled or vermeil and never "flash" gold plating. Her goal is to create jewelry that will be durable and cherished for generations to come. Sherri recycles her all the metal she uses and uses her recycled sterling silver in her creations. She saves her clean scrap to reuse in her studio and melts it down in a furnace. The melted silver is poured into an ingot mold and subsequently rolled out in a rolling mill to sheet or wire as neeeded. The rest of her scrap is sent to a refiner for recycling. In addition to these eco friendly practices, she also uses recycled material for her gift boxes and fill materials for packaging. Sherri Bloomer is a designer and metalsmith working in sterling silver, gold filled, and 14k gold. She lives in the Sierra mountains of northern California with her husband and two supervisor kittys, Cricket and Magpie.Read their story
