About Home Malone

Kristin Malone Johnson is a New Orleans artist, wife, mom, shop girl and firm believer of homemade pizzas on Friday nights. Home Malone began in 2011 as a side-gig furniture refinishing business located in the carport of her home when she was 24. It became a creative outlet from her full-time day job selling industrial products. Using the scraps from her projects, she began to paint New Orleans inspired art on leftover wood pieces and her inner high-school artist found her path again! Over the years, she participated in many large Southern art festivals, pop-ups, and expanded her wholesale line that is heavily influenced by South Louisiana culture. She opened her first retail store in 2016 featuring the work of her colleagues who design and produce their work in the South. Home Malone now has 2 New Orleans based retail locations, an thriving online store, and recently expanded her wholesale line by participating in Emerging Artist at Atlanta's Americas' Mart wholesale show in January, 2020. She was named one of New Orleans 40 Under 40 in Gambit Weekly's publication featuring young people who are making an impact in the local community. Since opening her retail store, her motto has been and continues to be: "If we ask you to shop small, so will we." Read their story
