About Violet Lorraine

My story begins when I was 5 years old when my Great Grandmother taught me how to sew on a foot peddle sewing machine. I fell so much in love with sewing that my Nana, who also was a sewer had shown me more advance sewing than just pillows and blankets for my barbies and stuffed animals. Then later on in life I went to college for fashion design and merchandising for a few years then it decided to shut down, and I lost the love of sewing for a few years. Then my kids wanted to learn how to sew for their dolls and so what did I do? I taught them how to sew. My youngest was more interested so we made clothes which lead to small fashion shows in New York fashion week as well as a few here in Detroit. We started her own scrunchie line and then as she got older, she didn't want to do them anymore. I wanted to branch out my own company and that is what I started to do for the last few years in memory of my nana Violet Lorraine.Read their story
