Backdraft BBQ is a firefighter inspired bbq food truck, caterer and competition bbq team out of Middlesex NC operated by husband and wife Garrett and Rachel Strickland. The brand name Backdraft BBQ was inspired by Garrett which is a firefighter. Garrett shares a passion not only for helping people but also his love and passion for cooking great food. Through the years we have competed in bbq competitions. Referred to do catering jobs for family and friends; to then starting our food truck in 2021. We have now perfected our signature homemade bbq sauce that was in the making since opening in 2021 with many many trial homemade batches along the way. The sauce is well balanced with a sweet and tangy taste. Finally in late 2024 we finalized the recipe and had it bottled by a local co-packer. We continue our passion in growing our brand and business. We would love to have others enjoy our bottled sauce by offering it in more and more locations. Our future plans are to continue to grow our brand with additional sauces and rubs already in the works. Continue the food truck and potentially have a brick and mortar restaurant. Long term I would love to see several locations but for now we will take it one day at a time. We have come so far from the beginning and we can’t wait to see where this journey continues to take us.
