About Maine Needham Company

We are the premier crafters of Maine's iconic potato candy - the Needham. What is a Needham? A Needham is a traditional Maine candy with a coconut and potato filling covered in dark chocolate. The potato in the filling provides a rich texture unlike any other candy bar. Needhams were first created in the early 1870’s by candy-maker John Seavey and have become a favorite Maine treat. We’re Gerard and Malaika, and in the spring of 2019, we opened the Maine Needham Company in our hometown, Saco, Maine, where we’ve lived and raised our family for over three decades.
