About Duprès

The Duprès sparkling wine cellar presents delicacies with a love of sparkling tradition with a touch of modernity. The family business was first mentioned in 1650. It was also here that the foundation for top-class sparkling wine was laid. The wine shop in its present form has existed since 1792. In the 19th century, the son Fritz Kollmeyer was born, who leaves Neustadt am Rübenberge on his own and brings back more than exquisite pearls from his trip in the South Pacific. The most precious gift was the company Duprès & Co., which was named after its teacher Monsieur Duprès. In order to run a sparkling wine cellar next to the wine house, the ideal and cool vaulted cellars were secured under Landestrost Castle. From then on, the brand received great recognition and became a court supplier to many royal and manor houses. In the 20th century, the old tradition was revived, Kollmeyer & Cie “Brut”, producing champagne from a small factory in Epernay. Joachim Plinke now manages the company. The grandnephew of the legendary “Old Fritz” returned to his home country in 1981 as a winemaker and took over the traditional company from his father. Professional competence passed down through generations.
