About MODHome Ceramics

MODHome Ceramics began as a one women studio in the basement of her new home. Established in 2015 with 3 school aged kiddos and a husband, she embarked on a dream to create pottery that would comfort and lift people up. Each piece was handcrafted using the sgraffito technique and the same indigo colored slip with a matte transparent glaze that is soft in the hands. In 2024 because demands were more than possible to meet, she reached out to her ceramic community for a way to produce more. She was led to a family generational run business in Maryland that had connections to clay factories all over the world. They took her project and linked it to a factory in Thailand. The people in Thailand made molds of her prototypes even leaving her throwing rings on the inside of the mugs. These mugs are buttery and fit well in your hands. The floral designs are signature patterns of the originals. This is the beginning of a new way to reach more people and maybe even a new line of work. She continues to make originals in her Seattle basement studio in the hopes for those who want to add to their collections.Read their story
