badknees was born in a basement around 2015 while I was working full time as a high school English teacher. I dabbled in screen printing since my early 20s, always approaching it in the most diy manners because that is the only way I knew how. In 2015, though, I started getting a bit more serious about it and learning various ways to make cool T-shirts. Which takes us to now. I resigned my teaching position in 2019 after doing it for 11 years ( a decision that was a TOUGH one to make!), and have been giving badknees a full-time go. I'm out of my basement and have a storefront/studio in Bloomington, Indiana. Not only do I regularly create my own designs (usually trying to spread positive messages), I also take on custom screen printing work.
